Job Description

We're looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our Kitchen Team at The Rees Hotel Queenstown and our True South restaurant. You will keep our kitchen spotless with an emphasis on impeccable hygiene practices, and assist our chefs with basic food preparation.

Responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning kitchen equipment, benches and food preparation areas to the highest hygiene standards
• Assisting our chefs with basic food preparation
• Receiving deliveries, completing stock checks and rotating stock (FIFO)
• Keeping storerooms clean and organised
• Following all food safety and health and safety procedures

Skills, experience and attributes:

• Prior relevant kitchen experience
• Understanding of food safety and impeccable hygiene practices
• Accuracy and an “eye for detail”
• Hard working and keen to learn
• Passionate about customer service
• Effective communication skills and a true team player
• Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
• Reliable and punctual
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays
