About the role

Council is currently seeking to fill Kitchen Officer positions within the Arts & Culture Department.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean;
  • Washing and cleaning utensils and dishes in the kitchen and making sure they are stored appropriately;
  • Handling, sorting, storing and distributing food items;
  • Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and assisting in food handling within the food safety guidelines;
  • Sorting and disposing of rubbish and recycling; and
  • Adhering to all aspects of Food Safety support.

About you

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Minimum 6 months experience dish-washing in a commercial kitchen environment;
  • Good understanding of kitchen cleanliness;
  • Basic communication and writing skills; and
  • The ability to stay composed in difficult situations.

This position is a Band 2A currently remunerated at $42.31 per hour plus superannuation.
