LOCATION:Camp Ponderosa Ranch, Heber, Arizona

STATUS:On-Cal lNon-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years experience working in a kitchen or dining area
  • Must exemplify a character rooted in respect, patience, & sensitivity towards a diverse population
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be detail-oriented, punctual, dependable, and personable.
  • Ability to work alongside staff and volunteers with a variety of skill levels and dispositions
  • Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and tactful communication at all times
  • Must maintain Food Service Certification once acquired
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet dining guests with a joyful demeanor.
  • Ensure that the dining area is clean, clutter-free, and welcoming.
  • Assist with any assigned food service preparation.
  • Assist in the Conifer Café as scheduled and assigned.
  • Be willing to accomplish assignments that enhance Ponderosa’s food service experience.
  • Communicate stocking and inventory needs and assist with inventory procedures.
  • Wash and store dishes, pots, and pans as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all dishwashing and food prep areas
  • Reset and restock the dining hall as assigned
  • Flip the dining hall and kitchen between groups as assigned.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in personal grooming.
  • Reflect and implement the Camp Ponderosa mission in the Kitchen and Dining Hall: “To create a mountaintop sanctuary where a deep sense of belonging is found and nurtured by loving service and joyful experiences.”

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
