Job Description

We are looking for reliable and motivated Kitchen Helpers to join the team at a popular restaurant in Gozo, known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality cuisine. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to gain experience in a busy kitchen environment.

Only people residing in Gozo, Malta will be considered for this role.

As a Kitchen Helper, you will support the kitchen staff in day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth and efficient preparation of meals. This includes assisting with food preparation, basic cooking tasks, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation and basic cooking tasks

• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits

• Portion and package food items as needed

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment

• Dispose of waste and follow proper sanitation procedures

• Restock supplies and ingredients in the kitchen and storage areas

• Ensure that food handling and storage practices meet health and safety standards

• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and quality meal preparation

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is an asset but not essential

• Willingness to learn and follow instructions

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices

• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• A strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Possession of a valid Skill Pass or willingness to obtain one is required
