Job Description

The Role:

  • Carry out a range of duties associated with maintaining the cleanliness of food preparation equipment, food disposal and waste management areas in a clean hygienic state with the Launceston General Hospital (LGH).
  • Ability to maintain all food service equipment and surfaces in a clean and hygienic state.
  • Experience in floor cleaning, pot wash and the use of cleaning chemicals inside a production kitchen.
  • Ability to understand both written and verbal instructions, and to cooperate with other personnel within the department to work successfully as a team.
  • An understanding of, and ability to comply with, workplace health and safety requirements.

  • LGH Food Services provides meals to over 300 patients daily (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) 365 days a year

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker, not working weekends but working Public Holidays, working 70 hours per fortnight, to commence as soon as you can join the team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $57,130 to $62,486 per annum, Pro Rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
