Are you someone who enjoys working in a friendly team and takes pride in preparing meals that brighten someone's day? Join Eureka Villages as a Kitchen Hand and play an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience for our residents while supporting a close-knit retirement living community.

Why Eureka?

At Eureka Villages, we believe retirement living is about more than providing accommodation. We create welcoming communities where residents feel safe, connected and genuinely at home.

Our team plays an important role in making this happen every day. As a Kitchen Hand, you'll help deliver nutritious, home-style meals while creating a positive dining experience that contributes to our residents' wellbeing.

Guided by our values of Putting People First, Embracing the Challenge, Committing and Following Up, Acting with Purpose and Building Belonging, you'll join an organisation that is passionate about creating places people are proud to call home.

What's the role?

We're looking for a Kitchen Hand to join our Wynnum Village on a casual basis, working approximately 15 hours per week

Working alongside the Chef and reporting to the Village Manager, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen by:

  • Assisting the Chef with preparing and serving nutritious, home-style meals
  • Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
  • Cleaning and sanitising food preparation and dining areas
  • Ensuring food is stored, labelled and rotated correctly
  • Safely disposing of waste and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
  • Following food safety, WHS and compliance procedures
  • Reporting hazards, incidents or equipment faults promptly
  • Engaging positively with residents and contributing to a warm, welcoming dining experience
  • Supporting a positive team culture and helping create a community where residents feel valued and connected

What's in it for you?

At Eureka, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset.

You'll enjoy:

  • Casual employment with approximately 15 hours per week
  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday shifts from 9:00am to 2:00pm (with some flexibility around start and finish times)
  • $36.09 per hour as per Aged Care Award
  • Purpose-driven work where you genuinely make a difference every day
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Meaningful relationships with residents and colleagues
  • Working for an organisation that values kindness, teamwork and community

What's it like working for Eureka?

Every day is an opportunity to make a genuine difference.

Whether you're preparing meals alongside the Chef, serving residents, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen or simply sharing a friendly conversation with someone over lunch, you'll be helping create a welcoming environment where residents feel respected, supported and at home.

At Eureka, you're more than a Kitchen Hand. You're an important part of helping our residents enjoy life and feel connected to their community.

Is this role right for you?

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality or cleaning role
  • A Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • An understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • A compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with older Australians
  • A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents

Ready to join Eureka?

If you're passionate about providing exceptional service and would like to be part of a team that helps create welcoming communities for older Australians, we'd love to hear from you.
