With beautiful waterfront views and a Mediterranean soul, Heirloom is all about fresh food, shared moments, and a welcoming, community feel. Open to the public and grounded in hospitality with heart, this is an exciting opportunity to join a venue from the very beginning.
We’re looking for a Casual Kitchen Hand (20–30 hours per week) to join our founding team.
The role
Availability: Must be available Thursday to Sunday (day and evening shifts)
Working closely with our chefs and café team, you’ll play an important part in keeping the kitchen running smoothly and supporting high‑quality food service.
You’ll help with:
Dishwashing and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
Food prep and basic kitchen support
Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment and work areas
Following food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
Supporting the team during service periods
What we’re looking for
A positive, reliable, and team‑focused attitude
Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
Good understanding of cleanliness and food safety
Willingness to learn and support others
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is great, but not essential

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
