Set on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, RACV Cape Schanck Resort offers the opportunity to work in a stunning coastal location as part of a friendly and supportive resort team.

We’re looking for a Casual Kitchen Attendant to join our kitchen team, with a strong focus on stewarding, cleaning and keeping our kitchen running smoothly. From dishwashing and cleaning equipment to waste management and supporting the chefs, you’ll play an important role behind the scenes.

About the Opportunity

As a Kitchen Attendant, your main focus will be stewarding and maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Washing dishes, crockery, utensils, pots and kitchen equipment
  • Keeping kitchen, scullery and food preparation areas clean and hygienic
  • Completing general and deep-cleaning duties throughout the kitchen
  • Moving and storing catering equipment safely
  • Assisting with waste disposal and recycling
  • Ensuring kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned, stored and handled correctly
  • Safely handling and storing cleaning chemicals
  • Supporting chefs and the wider kitchen team when required
  • Assisting with basic ingredient preparation where needed
  • Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
  • Helping keep breakages and waste to a minimum
  • Working as part of the team to keep the kitchen organised and operating efficiently

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, works well in a team and isn’t afraid of a busy, hands-on role.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in a stewarding, kitchen hand or cleaning role
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment would be highly regarded
  • An understanding of kitchen cleaning and hygiene practices
  • Confidence completing repetitive and physically active tasks
  • The ability to work efficiently, follow instructions and work without close supervision
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in keeping your work area clean and organised
  • Availability to initially work weekday shifts, either 7am to 3pm or 4pm to midnight
  • Flexibility to work additional shifts, including weekends, as operational needs change
  • This opportunity is suited to candidates who already hold full working rights in Australia, as we’re unable to offer sponsorship for this role
  • As the property is located in a regional area with limited public transport options, please consider your ability to reliably travel to and from work when applying
