As a member of the Ralph's Cafe team at Johnsonville, you’ll provide great service to our members. You’ll have an opportunity to provide a memorable visitor experience to all who visit the cafe.

Position Overview

If you have experience working in a commercial kitchen, have culinary skills for food preparation and have a passion for the art of coffee making and appreciate coffee lovers, this is the perfect position for you! Johnsonville is actively looking for an enthusiastic part-time kitchen assistant/barista with a track record of exceptional customer service. In this role, you will have duties that include preparing high-quality deli sandwiches, salad bar components and other food offerings. The ideal candidate is customer service-oriented, passionate about nourishing people with great food and top-quality beverage products, while maintaining high professional standards of service. You will have the opportunity to work within Johnsonville’s “Ralph’s Coffee Shop”. This is a perfect opportunity to interact with Johnsonville members while providing them with a memorable experience and top-quality food and beverage products.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and/or closing the café/coffee shop
• Greet customers with fast, friendly service and educate them on menu items and products
• Prepare menu items within product standards; always accurate and consistent
• Operate equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, keep clean and perform preventative maintenance
• Answer member questions about using the point-of-sale system and help troubleshoot issues
• Follow good manufacturing practices and food safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee shop, kitchen and barista counter
• Receive and maintain inventory and stock merchandise
• Minimize waste through strong utilization practices and creative seasonal offerings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• ServSafe handler certification is a plus

Experience

• One (1) year of food service customer service experience preferred
• Familiarity of coffee blends, preparation techniques and coffee making equipment preferred
• Commercial kitchen experience required
• Basic math skills required

• Ability to work both independently and as a team member without direct supervision

• Dependable and honest, with a positive attitude

Other Requirements

• This job requires standing, walking and bending throughout the work day and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stack and move inventory
• Must have a vehicle or driver’s license to transport products or ingredients as requested by the kitchen assistant
• Part-time: Monday - Friday, maximum of 29 hours/week
• Hours: Must have flexibility between 6:00am – 3:00pm
• Must be at least 18 years old
