🌟 About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant at Camp Wyuna (Queenscliff), you will support food service operations by preparing basic meals, washing dishes, setting up dining areas, and maintaining high kitchen hygiene standards. Reporting to the Catering Coordinator or Lead Cook, you’ll work on a flexible roster based on camp bookings. This role suits an energetic team player who takes pride in cleanliness, follows direction well, and enjoys contributing to a supportive community environment.

✅ What You’ll Do

🥗 Food Preparation Support: Assist the cook on duty with basic food preparation, plating, and serving requirements safely.

🧽Dishwashing & Sanitisation: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment and perform manual washing to keep cutlery, crockery, and cooking utensils meticulously clean.

🪑 Dining Room Setup & Pack-up: Prepare and reset the dining hall layout, clearing tables, and ensuring clean dining spaces for incoming guest sessions.

🛡️ Uphold Hygiene Standards: Maintain overall kitchen cleanliness and perform routine cleaning duties in accordance with the Camp Food Safety Program.

🤝Collaborative Team Support: Display personal initiative, follow directions carefully, and cooperate with other camp staff to optimize guest experiences.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
