Kitchen Assistant (Corporate Kitchen)
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to support daily operations in a corporate kitchen serving up to 150 meals per day. The kitchen provides hot and cold meals, salads, and sandwiches, with a focus on efficient preparation, food safety, and waste reduction through pre-ordering.
The Kitchen Assistant will work closely with two chefs and contribute to all aspects of kitchen operations, including preparation, service, cleaning, and stock management.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in daily kitchen preparation before, during, and after service
Wash, peel, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish
Prepare simple meals such as sandwiches, salads, and cold dishes
Support chefs during meal preparation and service
Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace at all times
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries correctly
Participate in dishwashing and kitchen cleaning activities
Help ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak service periods
Step in and support the team in case of staff absence
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience working in a professional or corporate kitchen
Strong knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food preparation
Experience with food cutting and preparation (vegetables, meat, fish, etc.)
Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as industrial dishwashers, ovens, and slicers
Good understanding of HACCP food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Strong sense of cleanliness, order, and food safety compliance
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team
Experience in stock handling and delivery reception
Languages
Dutch or French: Native or bilingual proficiency (ability to communicate in both is an asset)
Working Conditions
Working hours: 07:00 – 15:00
Full on-site presence required (no remote work)
Contract duration: 6 months, renewable
Expected workload: 8 hours per day
