The Four-Seasons is seeking a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team!
In this role, the Kitchen Assistant will support daily culinary operations, including food preparation, organization, and sanitation. You will be working under the direction of the Executive Chef; to help ensure efficient kitchen operations and consistent delivery of food service for meetings, events, and hospitality needs.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist with food preparation by chopping, cutting, washing and seasoning meals
Performing meal setup by pulling accurate service ware and display organization and signage.
Assisting with table and/or buffet set up
Assist as event support by being aware of filling in necessary gaps, floor service, kitchen support, bar tending or stocking during an event.
Event set up and break down by assisting in moving furniture and arrangement of the space according to the needs and requests of the client
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen environment.
Responsible for organizing the pantry, spices, refrigerators.
Support dishwashing, equipment cleaning to meet sanitation standards
Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies by shopping for groceries and food supplies, verify stock, and put away shipments.
Perform necessary orders of disposable, catering dishes and plasticware.
Brainstorm menu options and gain idea contributions by collaborating with the Executive chef to create new and fun menu options
Collaboratively work within a team environment, leadership, and front-of-house teams.
Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities to effectively manage tasks and collaborate with stakeholders
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to react to needs without direct instruction
Prior Kitchen or food service experience
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED Equivalent
1+ years of working experience within a kitchen, hospitality or guest services role
