University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) in North Little Rock, Arkansas, is accepting applications for a Kitchen Assistant in the Big Rock Bistro, located at the North Little Rock Main Campus. The Kitchen Assistant supports the overall cleanliness, organization, and functionality of kitchen and service areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining hygiene standards and assisting with basic food service and production duties, under the direct supervision of the Sous Chef- Bistro Manager.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized front-of-house area, including food service stations, trash receptacles, and workstations.
• Operate and maintain the dishwashing station and dish machine; ensure all handwashing sinks are cleaned, stocked, and functional.
• Stock and replenish service items such as beverages, cups, condiments, and utensils to ensure consistent availability.
• Support kitchen staff with production and prep duties as needed.
• Adhere to high standards of hygiene, health, and safety at all times.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong commitment to teamwork and service.
• Assist with cleaning and upkeep in all areas including restaurants, catering rooms, the loading dock, and exterior spaces as needed.
• Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing; maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Remain flexible and adaptable to changes in schedules or responsibilities.
• Support and promote the mission of University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
