Job Description

Job Location: Ranch Camp - Elbert, CO 80106
Position Type: Seasonal
Salary Range: $19.29 - $21.50 Hourly

The JCC Ranch Camp is not just the Denver JCC’s overnight summer camp, it’s also one of the best places to work during the summer. As a staff member, Ranch Camp will become your home away from home as you work to create a community where people can thrive. You’re a hero to your campers; you have the chance to do something you really care about and have a whole lot of fun doing it. Your experience as a staff member is just as important to us as our campers’ experience. That being said: We’re here to serve kids and make sure they are in the safest environment possible while having the time of their lives.
The Kitchen and Operations team at JCC Ranch Camp is essential to the camp experience, ensuring campers and staff receive nourishing meals in a safe and inclusive environment. As a member of the Kitchen and Operations Staff, you’ll assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, and uphold kosher and allergen management practices. Additionally, you will support camp operations by assisting with camper laundry and light housekeeping tasks, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment throughout camp. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in both kitchen and operations while being part of a vibrant summer camp community.
All our staff work in tandem with Camp’s Supervisory Team to ensure the positive resolution of all potential issues and challenges that might come up with regard to the kitchen, food preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and personnel.
Finally, all staff must be able to attend Staff Orientations and be available to live at camp, or be available for full-time kitchen coverage, for the summer season from mid-May to mid-August. This role has the flexibility to work in our shoulder seasons as well in late-April, May, August, September, and October.

- Laundry Room Maintenance: Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and stocked. Monitor inventory of laundry supplies and report to the Facilities or Director team when supplies need replenishing.
- Dining Hall & Bathroom Stocking: Ensure bathrooms and hand washing stations in the dining hall are stocked with essential supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels) and maintain general cleanliness throughout the day.
- Safety & Hazard Reporting: Identify and report any hazards or potentially dangerous situations in the laundry and camp areas to the Facilities or Director team.

About Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center

For nearly 100 years, the JCC Denver’s mission has been to build a community, rooted in Jewish values, where everyone feels like they belong. Our center was founded in 1922 as a place of refuge for the Jewish people of Denver, where they could safely gather under one roof to celebrate the cultural aspect of being Jewish.

Since then, the JCC Denver has evolved into something more–more than a single building, more than just a gathering place, and more than our individual departments and programs. Today, the JCC Denver is a community that extends beyond the walls in which we do business. We open our literal and figurative doors to anyone who wants to celebrate life and be a part of something more.

The JCC Denver has been, and always will be, a place where you belong.
