Job Description

As a Kiln Operator, you will play a crucial role in our company's operations. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and monitor our kilns, ensuring optimal performance and adhering to strict safety protocols. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a dedicated team, working together to achieve production goals and maintain the highest standards of quality.

  • Operate and monitor kilns, adjusting settings as needed to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of kiln equipment, identifying and reporting any issues or malfunctions.
  • Follow strict safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
  • Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Keep accurate records of production data, including batch sizes, temperatures, and other relevant information.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any production-related issues that may arise during the shift.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues, providing updates on production progress and any potential concerns.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts, including 1st shift (7 AM - 3 PM) and/or 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, such as operating manuals and safety guidelines.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to perform calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within the scope of the role.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and moving equipment as needed.
