The Columbia Athletic Club is looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing person who enjoys working with children and families. This is a year-round, part-time position that works with children ages 6 weeks to 13 years as an interim care provider while parents use the fitness club. The KidSpace Shift Coordinator is responsible for supervising the KidSpace Attendants during their shift. In addition, the KidSpace Shift Coordinator assumes responsibility for the supervision of the program at scheduled times in the absence of the KidSpace Manager. The KidSpace Shift Coordinator will also work evening and weekend special events.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have successfully completed 6 semester hours of approved training in education, recreation, child development, or related field, OR 99 clock hours of approved child care training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all parents/guardians.
  • Ability to organize, implement, and supervise activities as well as maintain a safe, clean, and caring environments for the children
  • Ability to read various types of documents (registration forms, health forms, medication forms).
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to follow written and/or verbal directions from management.
  • Must complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must have or be able to obtain current certification in First Aid & Community CPR.
  • Must have a customer service-focused attitude, and also meeting physical demands such as sitting on the floor, standing for a long period of time, kneeling, and being able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have transportation to all Kidspace sites.
  • Submit to a criminal background investigation and be fingerprinted.

The pay rate for this position is $16.75. CA offers a positive, fun work environment and a generous benefits package.
