Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $19.35 - $23.41 Hourly

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for a full-time Kid Zone Program Lead position.
This role is a meaningful opportunity to directly impact the lives of the communities we serve by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and helping create a safe, positive, and enriching environment for children and families. The Kid Zone Program Lead assists the Program Director in ensuring excellence in health and safety, staff supervision, program quality, and member experience. This individual plays a key role in creating a welcoming, well-managed environment where children and families feel supported, engaged, and connected.
Location: Fullerton
Work Schedule & Availability:
Program Leads are expected to work at least one program shift each day, in addition to dedicated administrative hours. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include morning, evening, split, and occasional weekend shifts. Flexibility is required to support program operations and staff coverage as needed.
Kid Zone Operating Hours
- Monday – Friday: 8:20 a.m. –  12:45 p.m.
- Monday – Thursday: 2:50 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
- Saturday: 7:50 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Purpose and Impact:
- Be a Leader:
- - Guide and support Kid Zone staff by modeling YMCA values, reinforcing expectations, and fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Prioritize Safety:
- - Ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant environment through active supervision, risk management practices, and adherence to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Drive Program Excellence:
- - Support high-quality program operations by overseeing daily activities, completing administrative tasks, and maintaining department standards.
- Build Positive Connections:
- - Engage with children, families, staff, and community partners to provide exceptional service, address concerns, and create a welcoming environment for all.
- Support Operational Effectiveness:
- - Assist with department operations, special events, fundraising efforts, and other initiatives that contribute to the success of the Kid Zone program.

Minimum

Qualifications:
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- Experience & Skills:
- - 1+ years of related experience and supervision required.
- - Preferred 2 years work experience with children ages 6 weeks to 11 years old.
- - Experience in customer service preferred.
- - Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Certifications:
- - First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
