Description

Kentucky Horse Park is seeking qualified applicants for the position of KHP Visitor Experience Director in the
Visitor’s Center.

Located within minutes of downtown Lexington, the Kentucky Horse Park is a 1,224-acre working horse farm,
equine theme park, and internationally renowned equine competition facility. Founded in 1978, the Park is
owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and attracts over 1 million visitors from around the world
annually. The Park includes a 260-site campground, the Alltech and Rolex arenas, the International Museum of
the Horse, a Smithsonian affiliate, and much more.

The ideal candidate will be a hard worker, have professional office experience, have customer service skills,
and work well with a team or on their own.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the supervision of employees within the Visitor’s Center and Gift Shop
  • Provide training for employees as to operation of cash drawers, switchboards, movie theatres, etc.
  • Responsible for all administrative functions at the Visitor’s Center
  • Provide daily, monthly, and annual reports as it relates to the Visitor’s Center and Gift Shop
  • Ensuring customers are provided with quality service; resolve complaints or issues that arise
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Four years of professional administrative experience

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
A master’s degree in public or business administration or a related
field will substitute for one year of the required experience

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional administrative, business or research experience will
substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
