Description

The Kentucky Horse Park is home to many events throughout the year such as Breyerfest, Land Rover Three Day
Event, Festival of the Bluegrass, Southern Lights and many others. Come join our team and experience these

We are currently seeking applications for a KHP Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This position will perform
the work in the following duties installing, repairing and maintaining air conditioning; heating; ventilation
and electrical and plumbing systems.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, work well with a team and be highly
motivated to get the job done.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Installs, repairs and maintains the air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation and electrical
    and plumbing systems
  • Monitors the mechanical and plumbing systems to ensure proper operations
  • Inspects and checks the working performance of equipment according to specifications
  • Keeps basic records of work performed on such systems
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Upon employment, employees in this job classification may be required to maintain a
valid driver's license and may be required to drive a licensed vehicle. This status may be necessary for the
length of time in this job classification. If this is necessary, it will be listed in the specific position
description for the position at issue. Applicants and employees in this job classification may be required to
submit to a drug- screening test and background check. Applicants and employees in positions which perform job
duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections
or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet
qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration,
ventilation, or electrical systems.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for
the experience on a year-for-year basis

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):
Must be 18 years of age

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title are required to lift heavy objects, bend,
stoop and have good manual and finger dexterity. Incumbents in the job will typically perform their job duties under these
conditions. May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.
