Job Description

Join us for an 18-month fixed-term assignment starting in January 2027. The role is based in our London office and offers the opportunity to work within an international environment at the heart of European energy markets.

Your tasks:

Join our Sales team and play a key role in driving the growth of EEX’s exchange and clearing business across European and UK Power, Natural Gas, and Environmental Markets. In this highly visible, client-facing position, you will manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of key market participants, including energy utilities, commodity trading houses, financial institutions, and industrial companies. Acting as a trusted commercial partner, you will support clients in achieving their trading, hedging, and clearing objectives while identifying new business opportunities and strengthening EEX’s market position. Through regular client interactions, market briefings, and account reviews, you will build long-term relationships and drive trading activity across our exchange and clearing services. A key focus of the role is the acquisition and onboarding of new trading and clearing participants. By promoting innovative products, new contracts, and clearing solutions, you will contribute directly to increasing market liquidity and expanding our customer base. In addition, you will gather market intelligence and customer feedback to help shape the future development of our products and services. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders across Product Development, Market Operations, Clearing & Risk, Legal, and Compliance will be essential to ensure a seamless customer experience. Representing EEX at industry conferences, customer events, and market forums will further position you as an ambassador for our business and a trusted point of contact within the energy trading community. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of Europe's energy markets while contributing to the energy transition in a dynamic and international environment. As always, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are at the heart of how we work together - our Exchange Mindset.

You bring along:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in sales, key account management, broking, or business development within energy, commodities, exchange, or clearing markets
  • Strong understanding of European power, gas, and environmental markets, including exchange-traded and cleared products
  • Knowledge of market infrastructure, clearing processes, margining concepts, and exchange trading models
  • Proven track record in client acquisition, account management, and commercial negotiations
  • Established network within energy trading companies, utilities, financial institutions, brokers, or commodity market participants
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior decision-makers
  • Commercial mindset combined with analytical thinking and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent English skills; additional European languages such as German or French are considered an advantage

Why join us?

  • Attractive salary package with many benefits
  • Flexible mobile working arrangements
  • Personal development thanks to extensive further training opportunities
  • A place in a dynamic and international team within EEX Group and Deutsche Börse Group
  • A long-term perspective in the constantly growing and evolving energy industry
