Job Description

At DNV Maritime, we help our customers navigate the most complex challenges in shipping—safety, performance, sustainability, and digital transformation.

Area Benelux & France is part of the Maritime Region West Europe, covering classification and advisory activities across all vessel segments, offshore units, and emerging areas such as renewables and aquaculture. With ~70 colleagues across seven locations, we work closely with leading shipowners, operators, and maritime stakeholders across the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Monaco, and Switzerland.

We are looking for a Key Account Manager (KAM) to strengthen our presence in South-East France.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to some of the region’s most important maritime customers. You will go beyond traditional sales—building long-term relationships, anticipating customer needs, and bringing the full strength of DNV’s global expertise to create value.

You will work closely with customers across technical, operational, and executive levels, shaping opportunities across our full portfolio—including classification, newbuildings, advisory, decarbonization, and digital solutions.

The position is based in the Marseille area, with a strong emphasis on face-to-face engagement and market presence.

What success looks like in this role

  • You are recognized by your customers as a trusted partner, not just a service provider
  • You proactively anticipate customer needs and shape opportunities early
  • You successfully navigate complex commercial discussions, balancing customer expectations with sustainable outcomes
  • You mobilize DNV’s global network to deliver integrated, cross-service solutions
  • You create a consistent “One DNV” experience for your customers
  • You identify opportunities where DNV can add value beyond classification, strengthening long-term partnerships

    Main responsibilities

  • Build and develop strong, trust-based relationships with decision-makers across key accounts
  • Act as the single point of coordination for all DNV activities toward assigned customers
  • Develop and execute customer-centric account plans to drive growth, retention, and satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across newbuildings, fleet in service, advisory, and digital solutions
  • Lead and coordinate complex commercial topics, including contracts, renewals, negotiations, and claims resolution
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. TSM, technical experts, finance) to ensure high-quality delivery and follow-up
  • Represent DNV externally by actively participating in industry events, networks, and customer forums
  • Monitor account performance and pipeline, ensuring structured follow-up of opportunities
  • Ensure high-quality CRM data and account insight, enabling informed decision-making
  • Stay close to market trends, industry developments, and customer strategies

By joining DNV, you will:

  • Play a key role in shaping strategic relationships with leading maritime customers in one of Europe’s most dynamic shipping hubs
  • Work in an innovative and international environment, addressing topics such as decarbonization and digital transformation
  • Be part of a highly collaborative and engaged sales team, with strong global support
  • Enjoy high autonomy and ownership in your role, with real impact on customer partnerships and business growth
  • Access a global network of experts and knowledge, enabling you to bring real value to your customers
  • Develop your career within DNV through continuous learning and growth opportunities

  • Proven ability to build relationships at senior and executive levels
  • Solid understanding of industry trends such as decarbonization and digitalization
  • Fluent in French and English

Who you are

  • A relationship builder who enjoys working closely with customers over the long term
  • A curious and insight-driven professional, motivated to understand customer challenges and business drivers
