Key Account Manager (KAM) - Ophthalmology (north)
The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key healthcare professionals (HCP) and organizations in the allocated therapeutic area (ophthalmology). This role is essential for increasing both sales volume and value for the Product Team, while enhancing the visibility and recognition of its brands. The KAM will play a critical part in driving sales and ensuring the successful promotion of allocated products, in alignment with the strategic direction and guidelines set by the Product Team/Company
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the ophthalmology field.
- Plan, organize, and conduct regular visits to key stakeholders (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other HCPs), aligning efforts with specific marketing guidelines and quarterly and annual sales objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, medical affairs, and access to ensure alignment and support for key accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback, sharing collected insights with the team and inform strategy.
- Set operational objectives for visits based on the analysis of previous visitation results and proactively propose actions and suggestions aimed at improving and optimizing activities.
- Utilize scientific knowledge to effectively promote allocated products and represent the company with professionalism in all interactions, enhancing the organization’s image and prestige.
- Prepare and manage account plans, forecasts, and budgets, while effectively managing promotional materials and financial resources assigned
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Preferably with a degree in Life Sciences or Management/Marketing.
- At least 2 years of experience in key account management, sales, or a similar role, preferably in the ophthalmology/retina field.
- Understanding of the ophthalmology market, including knowledge on key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) is preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with HCP and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven aptitude for working towards predefined objectives and achieving sales targets.
- Ability to research and stay updated on market trends within the pharmaceutical industry and the relevant therapeutic areas.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Proficient in computer skills, particularly in user-level applications (using CRM software)
