WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Chinese Speaking Key Account Manager to join our team in Zambia. In this role, you will be responsible for Leading and developing a high-performing, customer-focused team.
Ensuring first-priority management of Chinese accounts in Zambia, while overseeing all other Chinese accounts in Southern Africa.

Your main duties shall include;

  • Acting as the senior liaison for all Chinese clients in the Region, maintaining daily contact and providing world-class service and responsiveness.
  • Functioning as the key link between Operations and the Administration teams for all Chinese accounts, facilitating seamless information and workflow.
  • Ensuring that best-in-class services and solutions are consistently delivered to Chinese clients, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Supporting commercial development by proposing additional services to Chinese clients and preparing tailored proposals as needed.
  • Oversee all Chinese client relationships within Zambia and the DRC as the top priority, ensuring market-leading service and support.
  • Daily interaction with Chinese clients—establish professional, culturally sensitive communications, and rapidly respond to client needs.
  • Extending service coverage to all Chinese customer accounts in Southern Africa, providing remote and on-site support as required.
  • Acting as the main conduit for information and coordination between Operations and Admin teams for all Chinese accounts.
  • Review, validate, and ensure the accuracy of all invoices, reports, and service documentation for Chinese clients—strict adherence to quality and compliance standards.
  • Supporting commercial aims: identify, develop, and propose incremental and value-adding services to Chinese clients; draft and present specific commercial proposals based on client needs or emerging opportunities.
  • Nurture relationships to secure ongoing business opportunities and foster client satisfaction.
  • Collect, analyse, and report management information on performance, delivery, and opportunities related to Chinese accounts in the region.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight in this role, you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Required Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience managing key Chinese client accounts, ideally in Zambia, DRC Congo or wider Southern Africa.
  • Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) or substantial history of working with Chinese business clients is a strong advantage.
  • Track record in cross-functional team leadership and operational coordination.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience developing service proposals and achieving revenue growth.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in service delivery and client documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness.
  • Having a good knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Required Work Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in sales and/or account management.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Sales.
  • Professional certifications in sales management or key account management will be an added advantage
  • Speak and write fluently in English and Chinese. French as well being an advantage.
