About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape long-term partnerships with strategic Key Account customers across Queensland, turning opportunities into innovative, sustainable solutions that support both current and future needs. As a relationship-led, consultative role, you’ll operate in a complex, multi-service environment—going well beyond transactional sales to drive meaningful growth. You’ll play a pivotal role in winning new business and seamlessly transitioning customers into high-value, long-term partnerships that deliver lasting impact for both the customer and Cleanaway.

We’re currently expanding the team and have two exciting opportunities available.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and manage strategic relationships with prospective key accounts, leading acquisition, onboarding, and long-term partnership development
  • Drive commercial outcomes through acquisition plans, contract governance, and delivery of quotes, tenders, and proposals with strong financial oversight
  • Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities while maintaining a structured sales pipeline and presenting tailored waste solutions
  • Unlock growth through cross-sell opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to deliver cohesive, customer-focused solutions
  • Ensure accurate CRM reporting, pipeline forecasting, and compliance with governance, safety, and Cleanaway standards

About You

You are an experienced Key Account Manager or new business hunter with a strong business development mindset. You thrive in complex environments and understand how to balance customer value with commercial outcomes.

You will bring

Experience & Background

  • Proven success managing key or national accounts within complex, multi-service B2B environments
  • Industry experience in FMCG, waste, environmental services, logistics, infrastructure, or industrial sectors is highly regarded

Business Development & Growth

  • Demonstrated ability to drive new business, manage pipelines, and convert opportunities into long-term customers
  • Adopts a consultative, relationship-led (“farmer-style”) approach focused on sustainable growth and value creation

Commercial & Negotiation Expertise

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to make sound, value-driven decisions
  • Highly effective negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills

Stakeholder & Operational Excellence

  • Proven ability to engage and align diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of discipline in CRM usage, reporting, and structured account planning
