Key Account & Business Development Manager – Ornamentals&Landscape(Italy)

Role Purpose

Syngenta Professional Solutions (SPS) Italy is seeking a Strategic Key Account & Business Development Manager – Ornamentals&Landscape to drive sustainable business growth through strategic account management, market development, and portfolio optimization, while building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with key players in the Italian market to deliver innovative, integrated solutions that create mutual value.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Analysis

  • Develop annual business plans including sales forecasts, budgets and strategic initiatives
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape and channel dynamics to identify growth opportunities
  • Contribute to budget process, 5-year plan, marketing & communication plan and other strategic planning processes
  • Provide market intelligence and customer insights to support portfolio development and innovation
  • Provide regular business reviews and updates to senior management

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify, evaluate and pursue new business development opportunities in the Ornamentals&Landscape segments
  • Create demand generation strategies
  • Lead strategic projects to drive business transformation and growth
  • Lead the successful introduction of NPIs and drive biostimulants and fertilizers segments growth strategy
  • Collaborate with Technical and Marketing teams to develop value propositions and go-to-market strategies

Account Management & Relationships

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned key accounts in alignment with overall business strategy
  • Build and maintain C-level relationships with key accounts, serving as their primary strategic business partner
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contracting with key accounts
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability through value-based selling and strategic partnership development

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Coordinate internal cross-functional teams to ensure excellent customer service and solution delivery
  • Ensure compliance with commercial policies, HSE requirements and competition laws

Required Qualifications

Critical experience and knowledge

  • Advanced degree in Agriculture/Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial experience in agriculture industry
  • Proven track record in key account management and business development
  • Strong understanding of Ornamentals and Landscape markets and value chain
  • Native Italian speaking with excellent English language skills
