Location: The Salvation Army – Las Vegas Administration

Status: Non-Exempt – Full Time/Seasonal/Temporary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Administrative or Logistical Management Experience
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a highly fluid and stressful environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of and ability to use current Microsoft software computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, as well as e-mail, Adobe Acrobat and the internet
  • Ability to learn and utilize The Salvation Army Kettle Management Software Program
  • Ability to create and manage schedules.
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent detail, organization and file management skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting with other professionals
  • Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule, address multiple projects in a timely manner and take projects from beginning through completion
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances
  • Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the onboarding of seasonal bell ringers/Christmas Ambassadors
  • Coordinate, schedule and seek out volunteers and service clubs for various locations
  • Participate in training, of bell ringers and drivers.
  • Work closely with volunteer coordinator to ensure accurate scheduling of volunteers at the times they are available.
  • Responsible for creating daily and weekly schedules for all bell ringers/Christmas Ambassadors and ensuring they all receive their weekly schedule the week before.
  • Identify new and existing and kettle sites, ensuring all the correct paper work is secured, including property manager approvals and insurance certificates.
  • Assist in meeting with store managers working out details for scheduling, special needs, stand storage, etc.
  • Work with the volunteer coordinator and PR to schedule special bell ringing events for groups such as businesses, service clubs, churches and schools.
  • Review daily reports making appropriate management decisions based on the data.
  • Responsible for the distribution of bells, aprons and or jackets to bell ringers
  • Responsible for the collection of kettles at the end of each shift
  • Collect and verify time sheets
  • Enter time sheets in for processing
  • File time sheets.
  • Distribute pay checks when received
  • Ensure the return of all Salvation Army owned property at the end of the season
  • Other duties, as assigned

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
