Based in Shanghai FSSC, the R2R Accountant plays a role in driving high-quality and efficient financial closing for assigned entities. Focuses on financial closing, account reconciliation, and reporting accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards, requiring strong hands-on experience in month-end activities, balance sheet control, and issue resolution to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

How You Will Contribute

In this role, you will own and optimize the financial closing and reporting cycle, serving as a vital link between Shanghai and our HK/Macau operations. Your contributions will ensure transparency, control, and insight.

Financial Closing & Reporting:

• Managing day-to-day accounting, taking ownership of key closing activities including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing with precision and timeliness.
• Prepare accurate and compliant statutory financial statement in line with IFRS and local GAAP along with variance analysis and provide explanations for key fluctuations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation and follow up on open items, ensuring all accounts are properly reconciled and all balances are fully substantiated.

Compliance, Control & Audit support:

• Serve as the first line of defense for financial controls, ensuring compliance with the internal control framework to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
• Support internal and external audits with organized documentation and clear explanations.
• Proactively monitor accounting issues and escalate potential risks timely. Ensure adherence to internal control policies and strengthen control awareness.

Finance Partnership & Continuous Improvement:

• Collaborate closely with in-house brand finance to resolve discrepancies, clarify transactions, and align on accounting treatments.
• Drive process improvements and digitalization initiatives within the R2R cycle, leveraging SAP (FICO) to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
• Participate cross-functional finance projects, including system enhancement, new accounting standard implementations and integration of new business activities.

Who You Are

You are a meticulous and proactive accountant who thrives in a detail-oriented yet business-partnering role. You bridge geographical and cultural gaps with professionalism and seek to add value beyond the numbers.

Your Professional Foundation:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, HKICPA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in luxury retail, retail, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
• In-depth, practical knowledge of HKFRS/MFRS and IFRS is essential.
• Mandatory proficiency in SAP (FI/CO modules); experience with S/4HANA is a significant plus.
