About the Role
We are seeking a practical and experienced Kerbing Operator to join our Dunedin team. This hands-on, field-based role will be responsible for carrying out kerb and channel, footpath and associated civils tasks across the Otago region. The role involves preparing and finishing kerb work, operating and supporting kerbing plant, ensuring workmanship meets specifications, and maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out kerbing and associated civil construction tasks to programme and specification, including finishing, formwork and concrete placement.
Operate kerbing plant and equipment safely and efficiently; perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance, and report defects.
Set out, check levels, falls and alignment as required and verify finished work meets tolerance and surface finish standards.
Assist with material handling and placement to ensure quality and productivity on site.
Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors to meet daily targets and programme requirements.
Promote and follow safe work practices; participate in toolbox talks, identify hazards and ensure control measures are in place.
What you will bring:
Proven experience in kerbing, footpath or civil construction operations, with practical knowledge of kerbing methods, concrete finishing and formwork.
Experience operating kerbing plant and associated equipment.
Good communication and teamwork skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Current and valid New Zealand driver’s licence (Minimum class 2 essential)
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake physical tasks; availability for some night, weekend or on-call work may be required.
Right to work in New Zealand.
