About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Kerbing Foreman to join our Dunedin team. This field-based role will lead kerbing crews to deliver high-quality kerb and channel, footpath, across the Otago region. The role involves supervising on-site kerbing operations, coordinating plant and materials, ensuring workmanship meets specifications, and maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day kerbing and associated civils activities, ensuring work is completed to programme and specification.
Lead, mentor and motivate crew members to achieve high standards of workmanship, productivity and teamwork.
Plan and allocate resources including plant, equipment and materials to meet job requirements and timelines.
Set out kerb lines, levels and falls as required; check finished work for alignment, tolerance and surface finish.
Maintain accurate site records including timesheets, daily reports, material usage logs and quality checks.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with site plans, specifications and company procedures.
Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture on site; conduct toolbox talks, identify hazards and ensure control measures are in place.
Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors and stakeholders to resolve issues and keep works on programme.
What you will bring:
Proven experience at Foreman or leading-hand level in kerbing, footpath or civil construction works.
Strong practical knowledge of kerbing methods, concrete finishing, formwork, setting out and relevant tooling.
Experience operating and coordinating plant commonly used in kerbing operations.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and QA documentation.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Current and valid New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 2 required; higher class preferred).
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks; some night, weekend or on-call work may be required.
Right to work in New Zealand.
