Description

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), Lee County Area
Technical Center (ATC) in Beattyville, KY, has an opening for a Welding Instructor.

The ATC is looking for an experienced, hard-working, dedicated person to help students in Beattyville and
surrounding counties reach their career goals in the program area of Welding. This position is extremely
rewarding, as you see students in grades 9-12 further their education and complete their career path.

This position is advertised as part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE for employment through the Office of Career and
Technical Education. It is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.

In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Kentucky
Teachers’ Retirement System.

Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and
background check.

Salary dependent upon qualifications, training, and experience.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught
OR
Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught
OR
Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):
Must be able to acquire the personal national certifications applicable to the program
area (NCCR, ABC, AGC). Applicant can be hired without the needed personal certifications but must acquire the
needed certification at the next available testing period.
