Kennel Assistant

Department: Boarding

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Bastrop, Texas

Compensation: $11.00 / hour

Bastrop Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable Kennel Technician to help provide exceptional care for our boarding and hospitalized patients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with animals and is interested in growing a career in veterinary medicine.

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:

  • Feed, water, walk, and monitor boarding and hospitalized pets.
  • Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, treatment areas, and exam rooms.
  • Bathe patients as directed.
  • Wash, fold, and restock laundry and hospital supplies.
  • Clean food and water bowls, litter boxes, and bedding.
  • Assist the veterinary team with patient handling and restraint.
  • Report patient concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized hospital while following all safety and sanitation protocols.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous kennel, animal care, or veterinary experience is a plus but not required.
