Position: Kennel Assistant
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: AM and PM shifts required
Status: Full-time (30+ hours/week) eligible for benefits
Environment: Fast-paced animal care setting
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our animal care team. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients while providing routine care services.
Clean and maintain kennels, runs, cages, and treatment areas
Feed, water, and care for hospitalized and boarding patients
Walk dogs and provide basic enrichment as appropriate
Bathe animals as needed
Perform nail trims, ear cleanings, and anal gland expressions proficiently
Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
Monitor patients for changes in behavior, appetite, or comfort and report concerns
Assist with laundry, dishes, and general cleaning duties
Support exam room and treatment teams as needed
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization
Proficiency in nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expressions, and bathing animals
Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Must be on your feet most of the shift
Ability to lift and assist animals as needed
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols
