COACH I – YOUTH SPORTS
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening
community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Coach –
Youth Sports will lead in teaching the assigned sport(s). The Coach is responsible for ensuring
the safety of the students enrolled in his/her sport, must be knowledgeable about all aspects of
coaching multiple age groups and must encourage the highest standards of conduct and
scholastic achievement among all athletes. This part-time role may require evening and weekend
availability.
? Lead challenging and educational practice sessions.
? Instruct group in accordance with YMCA guidelines and rules of the game.
? Uphold, model, teach and put the four (4) core values of the YMCA into action in all
activities - everyday: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
? Maintain good relationship with Students, parents and sports officials.
? Maintain professional appearance and report on time to all scheduled practices and
games.
? Strive to develop the qualities of leadership, initiative and good judgement in all athletes.
? Develop habits that promote good health and sound training rules.
? Create a positive and nurturing learning environment to instill and encourage youth
development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
? Adhere to the directions given by the head coach and assist at all times.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
