Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for Kaituruki - Tutors in Law to join Te Kauhanganui Tātai Ture - Faculty of Law on a fixed-term, part-time contract for the 2027 academic year for LAWS211, LAWS213, LAWS214 and LAWS301 including Head Tutor and Māori and Pasifika (MPI) tutor roles.

In these roles, you will be responsible for preparing, delivering and facilitating specific tutorial classes that support the course material. Individual course content requires differing duties for each course’s tutorials. Please specify in your application which course/s you are applying to tutor.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering tutorials.
• Providing student consultation via scheduled office hours.
• Attending meetings as required with the Course Coordinator/Lecturers.
• Revision support as required prior to assessments.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

Applications are welcome from law graduates, postgraduate law students and senior undergraduate law students who:

• Have a solid academic record.
• Have at least completed their 200-level LAWS subjects by the end of 2026.
• Demonstrate confidence, empathy and the desire to help students get to grips with their legal study.
