Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaituruki - Teaching Assistant to join Te Kauhanganui Tātai Ture - Faculty of Law on a fixed-term, part-time basis.

The Kaituruki - Teaching Assistant will help the Faculty coordinate LAWS111’s tutorial operation and support delivery in an intensive format. Tutorials are delivered via Zoom and cannot be postponed. Duties include rosters and rolls, team comms/cover, Nuku engagement, assessment marking and Week 12 final invigilation; you also step in to teach when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the tutorial roster and rolls; communicate changes; arrange emergency cover; liaise with the Course Coordinator and Course Administrator.
• Monitor and engage on Nuku to prompt participation and respond to queries.
• Deliver allocated tutorials and step in when necessary.
• Mark the assessments and invigilate the final assessment.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a Law graduate with teaching experience, strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Key requirements:

• Law graduate with prior teaching involvement in Law courses.
• Confident online facilitation; reliable under time pressure; Nuku/Zoom ready.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills (TA-specific).
