At Waipapa Taumata Rau, we believe talent grows when people have the opportunity to explore, learn and discover where they can contribute most. That's why we created Waipapa Raukura Rau: a graduate programme designed for Māori graduates to build meaningful professional careers while creating pathways into the breadth of opportunities across the University.
Most graduates know the University as a place to study. Few realise it's also one of New Zealand's largest and most diverse employers, with more than 6,000 staff working across technology, data, marketing, communications, project management, student success, finance, innovation, libraries and many other professional fields.
Through tailored rotations, mentoring, development opportunities and permanent employment from day one, you'll gain real-world experience, broaden your horizons and discover where your strengths can take you.

This 12-month programme combines exploration, personalised development and meaningful work experience with the security of permanent employment. Rather than asking you to choose a career pathway immediately, we'll give you the opportunity to experience different possibilities before deciding where you want to focus.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. There is a fixed starting salary for this role - $70,145 per annum with fixed increases after 6 months and at the beginning of your destination role (end of the programme). The salary for this programme is based on a structured salary band system the University uses for all professional roles, considering capabilities, experience and equity with other internal roles.
