Job Description

SGI Global LLC is seeking a fluent English-speaking K9 Specialist to support the Department of State, Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City. The position will focus on canine health, welfare, and medical readiness.

Key Responsibilities (Preliminary)

• Provide veterinary guidance and medical assessments for donated canines.
• Monitor canine health, welfare, and operational readiness.
• Support recipient agencies with veterinary standards and program requirements.
• Conduct or support veterinary inspections and site visits.
• Review medical records and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Identify and help mitigate health, operational, and compliance risks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum five (5) years of veterinary experience, preferably with working or law enforcement canines.
• Experience in canine preventive medicine, diagnostics, treatment, and welfare.
• Spanish FSI level B2 or C1 preferred.
• Ability to travel within Mexico and internationally, if required.
• Ability to pass a security background check.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
