About the Role:

The Teacher position supports student learning by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom dynamics; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress

Content Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Design and implement effective ESL curriculum, lessons, and activities that align with state standards and cater to the language proficiency levels
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of English language learners, considering various learning styles, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
• Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' language proficiency and monitor their progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Familiarity with district policies and procedures related to curriculum coordination and instructional support.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL, or a related field (Transitional Bilingual endorsement accepted).
• Valid PEL with ESL endorsement.
• Preferred previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school students, particularly English language learners.
• Fluent in Spanish, preferred

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the performance of light work�which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The position includes close visual acuity, frequent talking, hearing, walking, climbing stairs and standing, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed in non-hazardous environments and a clean atmosphere. The position requires indoor and outdoor supervision during varying temperatures and climatic conditions.
