We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients!
We are looking for a Junior/Intermediate Sustaining Electrical Engineer to help ensure our advanced electronics thrive in an environment of expanding production and commercial clinical use. In this role, you will work hands-on supporting and improving the next generation of the Globe® Pulsed Field System.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part of
The Junior/Intermediate Sustaining Electrical Engineer position focuses on proactively reducing component supply risks as well as responding to shortages that arise. You will work as part of a highly collaborative team to minimize supply interruptions.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain familiarity with the diverse electronics in an advanced medical device while contributing to ever-greater availability of the Globe system and its benefits. You will also gain exposure to medical device design and manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities include, but would not be limited to:
• Monitoring component supply status and significant changes in component availability
• Proactively seeking alternates for important single-source components
• Responding to component shortages, sourcing alternate parts when required
• Coordinating or performing component qualification and driving it through to completion
• Implementing design changes
• Working with suppliers on scheduling, quoting and obtaining samples
• Supporting test development, root cause investigations, and new product introduction
• Complex system level testing and debugging

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Experience with electronics CAD tools
• Board-level analog and digital circuit design experience
• Proven ability to meet tight timelines
• Structured, logical thinker with excellent judgment and pragmatic work approach
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively across multiple disciplines and functions at various levels of the organization
Nice to Have:
• Experience with medical device design and quality requirements
• Experience using Altium Designer
Other Attributes:
• Proficiency with test and measurement equipment
• A strong drive to succeed with a track record of being highly productive
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Able to deal with changing priorities and requirements

Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
• $78,000 - $105,000 (CAD Annually)
