The Local Project is Australia, New Zealand, and North America's fastest growing design publication, celebrating extraordinary local design to our global community. With a focus on uncovering and understanding the impact that design makes on everyday experiences, The Local Project celebrates honest and human-centred design through premium print, digital, editorial, video and social content, with over 100,000,000+ impressions per month across our owned, operated and third-party platforms. Harnessing expert knowledge and skills, we specialise in delivering strategic excellence and creative brilliance.

Some of the things you’ll be working on….

  • Liaising with Senior Videographers and Content Creators (both in-house or freelance) on delivery of video assets.
  • Sourcing appropriate music, audio and visual effects and other supporting materials to support production.
  • Working alongside the Account Management teams and Producers to interpret client feedback in subsequent cuts.
  • Delivering, storing and filing all raw footage and final assets.

Experience you’ll need…

  • Knowledge of editing software including Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Exposure to the Architecture and Design industries will be looked upon favourably.
  • Ability to travel as required.

We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people of any race, sexual orientation, gender, age or ethnicity, and those who are culturally or linguistically diverse, gender diverse, neuro-diverse or living with a disability.

About The Local Project

The Local Project celebrates extraordinary design across a range of platforms, championing the best from industry leaders and emerging designers alike. After launching in 2016 with a focus on Australian architecture and design, we broadened our scope in 2019 to include New Zealand, and again in 2023 to encompass North America. Our print periodical features three titles – The Local Project, The Commercial Project and The Local Marketplace – and we recently launched our first hardcover book, 10, compiling highlights from our first 10 issues in print.

We are honoured to have been recognised twice at the Mumbrella Publish Awards; in 2022, we were awarded Best Use of Video for our video of James Stockwell Architect’s Bunkeren and in 2023, we were named Publication of the Year. Our hardcover book was also highly commended for Special Edition of the Year.

Our audience is a genuine cross-section of the design community, encompassing design-lovers and industry professionals. As such, we aim to inform, educate and inspire, exploring current questions, ideas and conversations through compelling and informed content. As we continue to grow, cultivating authentic and engaged communities is a vision that remains at our very core.
