Job Description

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Junior VAT Specialist to join our VAT team and support the accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of VAT returns and INTRASTAT reporting, as well as handling day-to-day ad hoc requests, and providing business and audit support. Following onboarding, you will take full ownership of your responsibilities, managing them independently while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare VAT returns in the assigned scope accurately and on time
  • Prepare INTRASTAT returns in the assigned scope
  • Analyze data used for VAT/INTRASTAT reporting, identify discrepancies, make corrections, and cooperate with process stakeholders in resolving root causes in data processing
  • Handle ad hoc requests and prepare internal reports as needed
  • Perform accounting tasks within the VAT process
  • Support audits by collecting documentation and responding to audit questions
  • Update KPI reports and ensure high data quality
  • Keep up to date procedures and work instructions
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and controls

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education, Master, other certification:

  • Education in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related area is an advantage; basic understanding of EU VAT rules is expected

Experience:

  • Initial experience in tax or accounting is an advantage

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of EU VAT regulations
  • Knowledge of SAP (as an advantage)
  • Experience in preparing VAT and/or INTRASTAT returns (as an advantage)
  • Experience working in SSC/BPO environments (as an advantage)

Languages Skills:

  • Communicative English skills

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines
  • Teamwork mindset and strong customer focus
  • Responsibility and confidentiality when working with data
  • Willingness to learn and develop in VAT
