Job Description

CCBill is an online payment services provider used by more than 30,000 websites globally that supports the needs of both new and established businesses in the ecommerce and online space.

Working closely with the Head of Compliance and MLRO, the Underwriter will play a key role in supporting our newly established Irish-based European business division. This role involves conducting underwriting and compliance reviews, applying sound judgement, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Reporting directly to the CCBill IE Head of Compliance and MLRO, you will work closely with the Team Lead and colleagues across the business, helping to navigate a wide range of day-to-day underwriting and compliance matters.

Location: Ireland

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours); flexible hours on a fully remote basis

Key Job Requirements:

  • Review higher-risk business models and identify any compliance, regulatory, or operational concerns.
  • Assess merchant applications using established underwriting guidelines to help manage risk and support efficient decision-making.
  • Carry out regular reviews of merchant accounts to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Review merchant documentation to ensure it is complete, accurate, and meets internal standards.
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies and Card Scheme rules.
  • Support improvements to processes and ways of working by identifying efficiencies and sharing best practices.
  • Identify potential risks, issues, or exceptions and escalate them to the relevant teams when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of reviews, decisions, and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve and escalate issues in line with departmental procedures.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience and knowledge of Irish AML regulation relevant to payment services (Customer Due Diligence and Onboarding of Clients) and the online payments industry will be considered an asset.
  • Analytical skills to identify and assess potential compliance issues.
  • Strong skills in documentation verification and risk assessments.
  • Efficiently and appropriately prioritise to ensure timely goal achievement.
  • Applicant must have the right to live and work in Ireland.
