The Role

As a Junior Trading Operations Engineer at Pepperstone, you will play a vital role in our commitment to serving our valued business users and clients. Ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our systems is our main priority. By carefully monitoring client trading platforms and supervising the maintenance of our end-to-end trading infrastructure and systems, you will contribute to the seamless functioning of our critical systems. You will be responsible for monitoring, configuring, and maintaining our order management systems and internal trading infrastructure, including aggregation and liquidity management systems.

This position requires having practical knowledge of the various trading systems available to our clients, a deep understanding of Pepperstone's business model, and adept skills in securely and efficiently managing trading infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to

• Manage and administer our client trading platforms, including MT4, MT5, cTrader and the in-house Pepperstone trading platform.
• Manage the company's internal dealing infrastructure, including execution, pricing and hedging engines, liquidity aggregators and proprietary trading infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient trading operations.
• Vigilantly monitor all dealing-critical systems, which encompass Trading Systems, Proxy servers, Windows servers, Aggregators, Pricing Engine and Third-party plugins to proactively detect and address issues to maintain system stability.
• Perform periodic health and performance checks on all trading platforms and systems to maintain optimal efficiency and reliability.
• Regularly conduct audits of trading platform systems and software to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities or discrepancies.
• Address Operations tickets and requests promptly, considering the business sensitivity and urgency of each request.
• Manage the process of corporate actions, swaps, as well as other daily operational tasks as required by the business, contributing to the smooth functioning of trading operations.
• Conduct end-to-end investigations for trade-related issues, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or problems.
• Monitor pricing and resolve pricing issues effectively to prevent disruptions in client trading activities.
• Manage escalations and maintain relationships with both internal stakeholders, external vendors and service providers. Ensure efficient communication and issue resolution.
• Support regulatory reporting initiatives such as transaction reporting, best execution and market abuse surveillance.

About You

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Maths, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in the field.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment, with a strong inclination toward self-learning.
• Strong analytical skills, effective time management, and eagerness to develop problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
• Previous experience within the online trading industry or a similar role is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with trading platforms like MetaTrader 4/5, cTrader, or Devexperts, and knowledge of liquidity aggregation tools such as oneZero Hub is a plus.
• Ability to investigate issues using logs and craft simple database queries (SQL).
• A willingness to learn how to investigate issues using logs.
