Sprintax, part of Clune Tech, is a web-based tax return preparation software that provides a number of tax related services to non-residents in the United States. We help thousands of international visitors such as students, scholars, teachers, trainees, researchers, work and travel participants and other foreign individuals that are temporary in the United States each year with the preparation of their tax returns.

Property Tax International (PTI Returns), part of CluneTech, specialises in domestic and international property tax return services for non-resident property owners. Since 1996, our expert team has prepared more than one million tax returns, helping property investors and lifestyle property owners meet their tax obligations with confidence across the US, UK, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Ireland. We make cross-border property tax compliance simple, ensuring our clients are fully compliant in each jurisdiction while never paying more tax than they need to.

About the role:

The Junior Property Tax Specialist with German is an entry-level role supporting our German property tax team with the day-to-day preparation of client cases. Working closely with experienced Tax Specialists and your Team Leader, you will help collect and organise client documentation, prepare case files, communicate with German-speaking clients and gradually learn how property and rental income tax returns are prepared and filed. No previous experience is required — full training is provided, and an interest in taxes is a plus. The day-to-day work is carried out in German, making this a great opportunity for students and German-language graduates to apply their language skills in a professional, international environment.

This is a hybrid, part time (4 hour) position, with shift being within the window 08:00 AM - 16:30 PM.

Responsibilities:

Case preparation & administration

• Support the preparation of German property and rental income tax return cases by collecting, organising and checking client documentation.
• Enter and verify client data in our case management systems accurately and completely.
• Identify missing or unclear documents and information and follow up with clients under the guidance of senior colleagues.
• Prepare simple, standardised parts of client cases, with all work reviewed by experienced Tax Specialists.

Client communication in German

• Communicate with German-speaking clients by email (and phone, once confident) to request documents, clarify information and provide status updates.
• Draft clear, friendly and professional client messages in German using our templates and guidelines.
• Log all client communication in a structured and traceable way in our systems.
• Escalate complex client questions to senior colleagues, and learn from how they are resolved.

Learning & development

• Complete our structured onboarding and training programme covering German property taxation basics, our tools and our processes.
• Gradually build knowledge of German tax forms, deadlines and filing requirements with the support of your mentor.
• Ask questions, seek feedback and apply it to continuously improve the quality and speed of your work.
• Take on increasing responsibility over time as your knowledge and confidence grow.

Teamwork & communication

• Participate actively in team meetings, planning sessions and knowledge-sharing discussions.
• Collaborate with Tax Specialists, Team Leaders and Customer Service colleagues to keep cases moving smoothly.
• Flag risks, blockers or unusual situations early rather than letting them wait.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.

Compliance & security

• Follow data protection and information security policies when working with client personal and financial data.
• Ensure that all work complies with internal standards, procedures and relevant legal requirements.

Requirements

• Good written German — the day-to-day work in this role is carried out in German.
• Good written and spoken English for internal communication and training.
• No previous work-related experience required — full training is provided.
• Availability to work 4 hours per day (part-time).
• Strong attention to detail and a careful, accurate approach to working with documents and data.
• Good organizational skills and reliability; able to manage your tasks and time consistently.
• Comfortable using standard computer tools (email, MS Office / Google Workspace); willingness to learn new systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional manner towards clients and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn about property taxation and grow within the role.

Preferred skills:

• An interest in taxes, finance or accounting is a plus.
• Current students or recent graduates in German Studies, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law or related fields are very welcome to apply.
• Any customer service, administrative or office experience (including internships or part-time jobs) is an advantage but not required.
• Experience living, studying or working in a German-speaking country is a plus.
