Role Purpose

The Junior Talent Consultant supports business leaders, employees, and the Talent function by contributing to the execution of talent strategies that enable organizational priorities. Working closely with cross-functional teams and Centres of Excellence (CoEs), this role provides analytical support, assists in key talent processes and projects, and helps implement programs that enhance employee experience, capability, and organizational effectiveness. The Junior Talent Consultant typically will provide consulting and coaching to leaders and employees of less complex groups.

Key Responsibilities (percentage of time spent may vary depending on client groups supported)

1. Talent Partnering Support

  • Support assigned business leaders and partner with senior Talent Consultants in the execution of core talent programs, ensuring alignment with firm-wide standards and timelines.
  • Provide initial guidance and support on Talent policies and processes – including compensation, performance management, and promotions – ensuring consistency and fairness – escalate complex matters as appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business leaders.
  • Support organizational change such as restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and transformation efforts.
  • Contribute to inclusion, diversity, wellbeing, and belonging efforts within assigned groups.

2. Talent Management & Development

  • Assist in the facilitation of talent reviews, development programs, and succession planning.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of talent, performance, and engagement data to identify trends and support planning.
  • Partner with CoEs to implement development and learning strategies and HR programs.

3. Workforce Planning & Operations

  • Support strategic hiring, headcount forecasting, and workforce planning through accurate data collection, reporting and analysis providing recommendations to leaders.
  • Participate in job evaluations, internal movements, and workforce transitions with HR Enablement and CoEs.
  • Maintain data integrity across HR systems and ensure timely execution of workforce-related actions.

4. Project & Program Coordination

  • Participate in project teams for talent-related initiatives, contributing research, analysis, and administrative support.
  • Help monitor project progress, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support change-management efforts by preparing communications, materials, and stakeholder updates.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong foundational analytical skills with the ability to interpret and summarize data.
  • Growing consulting capability with interest in developing advisory skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable tasks with guidance.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and reporting tools; comfortable working with data to inform decisions.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and navigate ambiguity with support.
  • Strong technology acumen with an interest in AI and digital tools.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in HR or a related field, preferably in talent management, consulting, or HR operations.
  • Familiarity with core HR processes and practices, baseline knowledge of HR laws.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply feedback.
  • Professional competency in English; French bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a professional services environment is an asset.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation (or progress toward) is an asset.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and relationship‑building skills.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

  • British Columbia/Ontario: $75,600 to $113,400
