Junior Systems Administrator

Onsite 5 Days/Week

Occasional travel to support remote sites

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in systems administration while gaining hands-on experience supporting enterprise server, virtualization, and network environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Active Directory, Windows Server administration, VMware or Hyper-V, and basic networking concepts such as DNS and DHCP. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments
• Create, modify, and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Active Directory
• Assist with Group Policy administration and troubleshooting
• Support virtualized infrastructure utilizing VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Perform system patching and routine maintenance activities
• Monitor and verify backup jobs and assist with disaster recovery testing
• Support core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and certificate services
• Troubleshoot server, network, and connectivity issues
• Assist with the deployment and setup of infrastructure equipment, including switches and access points
• Monitor system and network health using various monitoring tools
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and infrastructure records
• Manage incidents, service requests, and asset tracking through ticketing systems
• Participate in team projects and infrastructure initiatives
• Provide occasional onsite support at remote locations
• Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and on-call rotations as needed

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical operations
• Experience with Active Directory user and group management
• Basic understanding of Group Policy
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments
• Exposure to VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
• TCP/IP
• DNS
• DHCP
• Network troubleshooting
• Experience with backup and recovery processes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work onsite five days per week
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with infrastructure deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PowerShell scripting
• Exposure to monitoring tools and system health dashboards
• Knowledge of DFS and certificate services
• Experience working with backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or similar platforms
• Cloud exposure (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
• IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Server+, Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pompano Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
