Job Description

The Junior Systems Administrator will serve as a team lead for our Cerritos facility, collaborating closely with Help Desk associates to provide training and higher-level support. Additionally, this position will work alongside the IT Manager to ensure the maintenance and optimization of network infrastructure across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and established repeatable processes to effectively resolve issues with servers and software.
  • Support LAN, WAN, internet, and phone connectivity in various locations and occasionally support other locations.
  • Participate in technology purchasing, assisting with selection, ordering, receipt & initial setup of computer network devices.
  • Partner with IT Manager to create a secure as well as compliant server environment for both hosted non-hosted systems.
  • Manage domain and access directory.
  • Identify system software configuration changes.
  • Manage hardware as well as software systems, including routers, switches, VPN, and VOIP phone security systems.
  • Perform a desktop administration of different operating systems computers.
  • Recommend innovative.
  • Automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Create purchase requests for IT related purchases.
  • Implement solutions that meet the operational needs of the company.
  • Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and also storage, and standards project/operational requirements.
  • Maintain installation as well as configuration procedures for desktop servers.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity as well as availability of all hardware, server resources, systems plus key processes, reviewing system and application logs verifying completion of scheduled jobs like backups.
  • Maintain daily backup operations for servers, systems as well as users. Manage onsite plus offsite backup recovery.
  • Perform regular file archival purge as necessary.
  • Provide support per request from internal staff.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Apply OS as well as software patches on a regular basis to desktop servers.
  • Upgrade as well as configure server desktop software.
  • Perform backup restores data for all network servers.
  • Maintain users on corporate networks.
  • Assist with network - LAN as well as WAN - system design and implementation maintenance.
  • Responsible for PC hardware inventory, phones., finger scanners, maintenance, and upgrade repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in the field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues related to Windows 10 & 11, Active Directory, DNS and IP networking
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 including baseline security policies
  • Experience supporting Windows-based workstations and servers
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Experience with switches and firewalls
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable operating powered industrial equipment, including scissor lifts, in a warehouse or distribution center environment (training provided where required).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Benefits

The expected hourly rate for this position is $34/hr - $38/hr.
