We are hiring junior surveyors – are you interested in working for world leading classification society? DNV Maritime Korea, as a leader in maritime classification, supports Korea’s renowned shipbuilding and marine sector. With strong technical expertise in Newbuilding (NB), Certification of Materials & Components (CMC), and Fleet in Service (FiS), our organization is instrumental in maintaining safety, quality, and compliance throughout shipyards, manufacturers, and vessel operations. DNV Korea achieves high professional standards through rigorous training, robust quality governance, and close cooperation with clients and stakeholders.

DNV Maritime Korea employs approximately 180 people across five main locations, providing customer service, advisory and technical support, drawing approval, and surveys.

What You Will Do

As a Junior Surveyor in Korea, you will join a skilled team of surveyors and auditors to:

  • Conduct surveys and certify ships under construction to ensure adherence to DNV rules and statutory requirements – Newbuilding (NB).
  • Survey manufacturing processes, witness tests, and certify materials and components following DNV rules or other standards – Certification of Materials & Components (CMC).
  • Survey operating vessels to evaluate their technical status and compliance with DNV rules and statutory regulations – Fleet in Service (FiS).

General Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings, technical documentation, and compliance records.
  • Perform onsite or onboard surveys covering hull, machinery, electrical systems, safety, or manufacturing processes.
  • Record observations and prepare clear, high-quality survey reports.
  • Collaborate with approval units, production support teams, shipyards, manufacturers, and vessel operators.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials/Welding Engineering, or other relevance with 0-10 years of experience.
  • Strong focus on safety and professional integrity.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings, standards, and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, including English proficiency.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to travel for surveys assignments.
