Junior Specialist PHA (all genders)

New technologies, new products, process optimization projects in our chemical and pharmaceutical production plants, and diverse global investment projects in the life science sector. Does this sound exciting to you? You will find all of this in our Process & Plant Safety department as a Process & Plant Safety Practitioner at Bayer.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and facilitate interdisciplinary teams consisting of plant operators, process developers, project managers, and researchers to develop safety concepts for new technologies, products, and global investment projects
  • Conduct systematic safety analyses and develop suitable protection concepts for new or existing complex production processes at Bayer or strategic partners
  • Investigate root causes of incidents and share insights to continuously improve process and plant safety
  • Contribute to increasing the availability of our production plants
  • Perform safety-related commissioning audits in our production facilities
  • Support approval procedures for new plants as well as updates of existing permit documentation
  • Participate in internal working groups and external committees to foster knowledge exchange in the field of process and plant safety

WHO YOU ARE

  • You hold a completed degree in engineering or natural sciences (Master’s or Diploma), ideally with a PhD
  • You bring initial professional experience – preferably in plant safety and occupational safety. If your background is in production, process engineering, or research and you are interested in plant safety, you are also welcome. With our comprehensive on-the-job training and internal mentoring program, you will quickly take on independent responsibilities
  • You demonstrate commitment, initiative, strategic thinking, assertiveness, as well as strong teamwork and open communication skills
  • You are willing to travel occasionally to our EMEA sites for project meetings and audits
  • Ideally, you are already qualified as an expert under §29a BImSchG
  • You are fluent in written and spoken German and English; additional language skills are an advantage
