Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef is an integral part of the kitchen team, supporting the Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations. This role involves assisting in the preparation and presentation of dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Junior Sous Chef is also responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. 1. Assist the Sous Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
2. Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant's standards.
3. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
4. Manage kitchen inventory and order supplies as needed.
5. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
6. Assist in menu development, creating new dishes and improving existing ones.
7. Monitor food quality and portion sizes, ensuring consistency and minimizing waste.
8. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
9. Handle kitchen equipment and utensils with care, ensuring they are properly maintained.

 Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
 Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role.
 Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, recipes, and kitchen equipment.
 Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
 Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
 Strong attention to detail and a passion for high-quality food.
 Good communication and interpersonal skills.
 Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
